Biophilic Design
Biophilic Design Services: What is it?
Biophilia is a human personality trait described initially by Erich Fromm, a Neo-Freudian psychoanalyst, and later by biologist E.O. Wilson – both of whom agree that humans have intrinsic biological kinship for the natural world and other forms of life.
Biophilia is a combination of two words that descend from ancient Greek: “life” (bio) and “love” (philia); it literally means love of life.
On average, humans spend 90% of their time indoors. The quality of our indoor environments is crucial to enhancing our total well-being. Biophilic design, supported by research and science, is known for:
Stress reduction
Improving focus
Increasing immunity
Supporting productivity
Biophilic Design is more than just adding plants here and there and allowing natural lighting to magically light a room.
